La pièce et l'ombre ont été présentées dans le magazine Bordeaux Decor. La lampe est suspendue à une grande toile d'interprète et d'esprit libre ‘Josephine Baker’. Joséphine était propriétaire d’un château ‘Les Milandes’ pas si loin de nous avec ses 12 enfants adoptés - qui ferait des spectacles pour les visiteurs! Berry good morning! When guests order pancakes wi Berry good morning! When guests order pancakes with bacon and syrup it always makes us happy! Some save the breakfast treat for their last day and others like me just can’t resist when pancakes are on the menu! This is our go to recipe. Make the batter the night before for maximum fluffiness! And decant the mixture into a milk jug to pour into the warm pan to get a good shaped round. We use a cast iron pan. Whilst cooking take the pan off the heat between cooks to cool slightly or you risk burning the next batch. We like to serve this with warm syrup, bacon and sweetened berries. A big pot of fresh coffee and good morning vibes. * 2½ teaspoons baking powder * 1 teaspoon white caster sugar * 2 large organic eggs (beaten) * 30 grams unsalted butter (melted and cooled) * 300 millilitres milk * 225 grams plain flour * butter for frying Blitz it all up! When I first found the Manoir one of the things I When I first found the Manoir one of the things I loved most was how the light flooded through the house. Coming here from living in a dark flat the contrast felt liberating and instantly connected my inside space to the outside. Something I didn’t experience until the move and how important it is to me. This view is one of my favourites and I see it countless times each day but never tire of it. It’s my window to the seasons which are so contrasting here and we see some pretty dramatic weather through this window! At the moment I’m keeping look out for a huge Heron that is after the Koi Carp in the pond! He is very determined and visiting daily. We are sourcing a net to cover the pond now our season is at a close. Decor: The local brocante more or less gave me the chair...I later saw one similar on a antiques website for much more! The terracotta vase was one of the first things i bought for the house for pennies. The painting is huge and a Ruben copy...I love how it’s so theatrical and kitsch. It’s definitely an acquired taste..The wall behind is layers of plaster we discovered a little while before it was really fashionable to deconstruct walls. It was a happy accident. I loved the marble effect and it’s stayed. These little beauties are the lightest pastry stuffed with a fluffy sweet cream...we just gobbled a load for breakfast with coffee and are addicted! Cap Ferret is France’s number one spot for Oysters and the sweet little coloured houses in l’Herbe are home to many an Oyster farmer and chic Parisian too! It’s easy to fall for the cap’s charms but it remains pretty unspoilt and authentic.
